Janet Corrigan, Former President and CEO of National Quality Forum, and Arthur Cheliotes, President of Local 1180 Communications Workers of America AFL-CIO, to Be Honored at Medicare Rights Center Awards Dinner

New York, NY– The Medicare Rights Center will honor Janet Corrigan, Former President and CEO of National Quality Forum, and Arthur Cheliotes, President of Local 1180 Communications Workers of America AFL-CIO, at its 2012 Awards Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental, New York, on Monday, October 15, at 6:00 p.m.
For over two decades, the Medicare Rights Center, a national nonprofit consumer service organization, has worked to ensure access to affordable health care for older adults and people with disabilities through counseling and advocacy, educational programs and public policy initiatives.
“We are proud to celebrate these advocates who work tirelessly to increase access to affordable health care and improve the quality of life for people in this country,” said Joe Baker, president of the Medicare Rights Center. “The efforts of both Ms. Corrigan and Mr. Cheliotes advance their respective cause and bolster our own efforts to preserve and improve the Medicare program.”
Perri Peltz, documentary filmmaker and journalist, will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the event. Receiving special recognition is volunteer Madeline Augonnet, for her 10 years of dedicated service at Medicare Rights.
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., with dinner to follow at 7:00 p.m. All proceeds from the Awards Dinner will go toward supporting the work of the Medicare Rights Center.Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are still available.
