New York, NY—This week, President Obama selected Medicare Rights Center Board Member Carol Raphael as one of three appointees to the Commission on Long-Term Care.

“We applaud President Obama’s appointment of Carol Raphael to the Commission on Long-Term Care. She will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the work,” said Joe Baker, President of the Medicare Rights Center. “We look forward to following the Commission’s progress as they propose solutions to make the country’s long-term care system more accessible and affordable for the millions of people who need this vital care.”Ms. Raphael served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY), the largest nonprofit home health care organization in the United States from 1989 to 2011.
