Celebrating 35 years of making Medicare more accessible, affordable, and equitable!

National Education on Medicare and Coronavirus

Medicare Rights’ education staff has been hard at work monitoring coronavirus-related Medicare changes and translating them into free online resources to keep people with Medicare, caregivers, and professionals up to date on new Medicare rules and regulations.

With many people losing job-based health coverage and Social Security offices closed during the public health emergency, helping ensure timely Medicare enrollment has become more difficult than ever. To assist clients and those helping them, Medicare Rights has created a blog post and flier with tips on enrolling during the pandemic––including the best ways to contact Social Security and how to enroll in Medicare Part B online.

Medicare Rights has also hosted two webinars on Medicare and coronavirus, explaining Medicare’s expanded coverage of coronavirus testing, skilled nursing facility care, telehealth services, home health care, and more. Medicare and coronavirus information can also be accessed at any time through new pages on Medicare Interactive (medicareinteractive.org) and a regularly updated post on the Medicare Rights blog (medicarerights.org/latest).
