Celebrating 35 years of making Medicare more accessible, affordable, and equitable!

Now Is the Time to Weigh-in on the “Build Back Better” Budget Bill

Earlier today, the White House announced a framework for the “Build Back Better” budget reconciliation bill. While the outlined package takes important steps forward, it does not go far enough. It leaves critical Medicare improvements—like prescription drug reform and an expansion of Part B to cover vision and dental care—behind.

Crucially, the bill is not yet final. There is still time to make a difference, and we need your help. The window of opportunity is closing fast. Weigh-in today!

Take Action

Tell your lawmakers the final budget bill must strengthen Medicare by expanding access to dental, vision, and hearing services as well as by capping and lowering prescription drug costs. These urgently needed and overwhelmingly popular reforms would improve affordability, bring Medicare more in line with other coverage, and advance equity.

Step 1: Contact your U.S. Senators and Representative

Use our Action Center to send an e-mail and the U.S. Capitol Switchboard (202-224-3121) to connect by phone.

Step 2: Ask them to Prioritize Medicare Reforms in the Final Bill

Tell them to support a final budget reconciliation bill that:

  • Makes Prescription Drugs More Affordable by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, capping and smoothing beneficiary out-of-pocket drug costs, and restructuring the Part D benefit to reduce Medicare’s liability and better align pricing incentives.
  • Improves Access to Dental, Vision, and Hearing Care by adding coverage for these services to Part B.

Step 3: Spread the Word!

Share this alert with your networks, urging them to weigh in today.
