Celebrating 35 years of making Medicare more accessible, affordable, and equitable!

Help Us Help Congress Protect and Strengthen Medicare

As we recently discussed, there are two big ways Congress can help protect and strengthen Medicare in the current lame duck session—by passing the BENES Act and protecting important Part D reforms. But we need your help! Follow the steps below to ask your lawmakers to prioritize people with Medicare.

Call your Members of Congress by dialing the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121. Ask to be connected with your Representative and Senators, then ask them to:

  • Pass the Beneficiary Enrollment Notification and Eligibility Simplification (BENES) Act (S.1909; H.R. 2575) this year. This important bill would improve the Medicare Part B enrollment process in two ways: by notifying individuals of their potential eligibility for Medicare and by aligning and restructuring Medicare’s enrollment periods to avoid coverage gaps and facilitate awareness.
  • Oppose any attempts to raise prescription drug costs for people with Medicare, including efforts to roll back recent Part D donut hole reforms that help beneficiaries better afford their brand-name medications.

Then, amplify your voice! Share this alert with your networks and encourage them to weigh in as well.
