Celebrating 35 years of making Medicare more accessible, affordable, and equitable!

Medicare Savings Program Enrollment

The case study series, Challenges Faced by Dual Eligibles, is designed to help policymakers, advocates, beneficiaries, and their families better understand the challenges faced by people with Medicare. Each case study tells the story of a client who called the Medicare Rights Center’s National Helpline seeking assistance. The cases highlight common obstacles and suggest possible solutions.

This case study on benefits processing explores common issues with Medicare Savings Program (MSP) enrollment. MSPs are federally and state-funded and state-administered assistance programs for Medicare beneficiaries with lower income and resources. Some people who are eligible for MSPs also have “full” Medicaid, while others have only Medicare and the MSP.

Walk Through a Typical Client Experience

Experience the challenges from a client’s perspective to better understand the importance of improving the MSP enrollment process for everyday Americans. This digital case study takes you through a Medicare Rights Center client’s experience with MSP enrollment.
