Ada Salazar moved to the United States to join her family after the passing of her husband and eldest son. Shortly thereafter, she was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome—a rare blood disorder with expensive treatment costs. Overwhelmed with medical bills, she turned to Medicare Rights for help.
Ada’s counselor guided her through the enrollment process of the Medicare Savings Program. We are proud to report that the program is now paying for her Part A hospital and Part B medical premiums, allowing Ada to afford full Medicare coverage, which is increasingly out of reach for many.
